The unintended expatriate blogger behind SummitPaperwork

Hello, I am Sophia
I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expat residing in Zürich, Switzerland.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in our long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a work opportunity and quickly grew into something far bigger.
The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning on the go. But gradually, routines formed. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built SummitPaperwork
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on insights from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site ISN'T:
- A tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Switzerland persists, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I'll continue logging what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Zürich or anywhere in Switzerland, feel free to reach out.
Cheers,
Sophia
